Divine Ownership and Human Stewardship

1. Divine Ownership
Everything we see, touch, hear, and hold—every mountain and dollar, every breath and heartbeat—belongs to God. The world is not ours to own or control; it is His gift to us, and we are invited to care for it with humility and gratitude. This truth changes everything—it reframes how we worship, how we work, and how we spend.
2. Human Stewardship
We are not owners, but stewards—people trusted by a loving Father to manage His creation with wisdom and grace. God, who has always been and always will be, formed all things by His will and for His purpose. And because we bear His image, we are called to reflect His heart through faithful stewardship.
Jesus reminds us of this in the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14–30). The master entrusts his servants with resources—not to hide or protect, but to grow and use well. In the same way, God calls us to courageously and wisely steward what He’s placed in our hands. Our time, talents, and treasures are not our own.
Faithful stewardship reaches far beyond our finances. It’s how we use our time, nurture our relationships, and invest our gifts. Every moment, every dollar, every decision carries an opportunity to reflect back to God the radiance of His infinite worth. The way we handle money—how we earn, give, and spend—reveals where our hearts truly rest.
Do we live each day with heaven in view, or do we forget by Monday what we sang and heard about on Sunday?

3. Practice Gratitude
Psalm 24 gently brings us back to center: “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” When we remember that nothing is truly ours, gratitude begins to shape our choices. Stewardship becomes an act of worship, not obligation—a way of loving God through the way we live, give, and serve. Even paying taxes is a reminder that God provides us with work and the means to earn a living.
So today, take a deep breath. Loosen your grip a little. Slow down, give thanks for what you’ve been given, and ask God to show you how to use it for His glory. Ask Him to help you see the world—and His people—the way He does, so that your heart beats in rhythm with His.
“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; 2 for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.”
— Psalm 24:1-2
